Here at Friendly Ford of Crosby, we pride ourselves on providing our customers with valuable information, as well as quality vehicles and service. One question we're often asked is about the difference between bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranties. This is useful information to have so that you can get the most from your vehicle's coverage. Keep reading for an overview.

Your powertrain warranty is going to cover the vehicle's propulsion system. They're what make the engine run. Things like transmission, driveshaft, and axles fall under this warranty. Don't count on items that get a lot of wear and tear to be covered, though. Belts, fluids, battery, and clutch will be your responsibility.

The bumper-to-bumper, also known as comprehensive, warranty will pay for nearly everything related to your vehicle. Unfortunately, the actual bumpers and other body parts aren't included. Things like electronics, audio, heating, cooling, and suspension fall under bumper-to-bumper coverage.
